Level 2 G3 Teaching Assistant - Lunchtime Post x 2

6 hours and 15 minutes per week – term time only

Monday – Friday – 1 ¼ hours per day over the lunchtime period

Temporary until 31st August 2025


Two lunchtime teaching assistants are required as soon as possible to supervise, support and provide play opportunities for pupils. The teaching assistants will work as part of a team, with other lunchtime staff and under the guidance of senior leaders.


The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Engaging pupils in purposeful, collaborative play activities, both inside and outside the setting, during lunchtime periods
  • Guiding and supporting pupils as they move around the building, ensuring their safety
  • Implementing our school behaviour policy, ensuring that it is implemented during the lunch break
  • Supervising and supporting pupils as they eat hot lunches and sandwiches, in the dining hall and classrooms
  • Guiding and assisting pupils as they learn about table manners and managing cutlery etc.
  • Providing basic first aid and recording accidents and assisting with sickness and other welfare issues
  • Cleaning spillages and ensuring that tables are clean during meal times
  • Liaising with class teachers regarding the well-being and welfare of pupils at lunchtimes
  • Ensuring a positive atmosphere and experience at lunchtime
  • Establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
  • Supporting the emotional and social development of pupils
